Born Anew's adult recovery residency program, "the House" is designed to help men ages 18 to 80, who have chemical dependency related disorder problems due to their addictions. The men come to us from self-referral, social agencies, word of mouth within the community, treatment facilities and criminal justice system. Each prospective resident is given the earliest appointment available for possible admission. During the evaluation and assessment, conducted by the Director of Housing, the following are considered for admission:
The non-emergency medical needs of each resident, whether physical, emotional or mental, are observed and referred to the appropriate medical treatment for evaluation. Residents are then referred to those services within the community to assist them with their medical needs. If accepted for admission, "The House" rules are read and signed by the resident. The Director of Housing will review with the resident any questions the resident may have regarding "The House". The resident must also agree to participate in all scheduled house activities. This includes keeping all House appointments unless permission is granted by the Director of Born Anew. The resident must agree to abstain from use of alcohol and any mind altering chemicals while in residency. The resident must sign a consent for urinalysis if the presence of alcohol and/or drugs is suspected. The resident must abstain from violence or violent actions while in residency. The resident will be informed of all right, including those of dignity and safety, given to all of Born Anew's residents. It is the resident's responsibility to adhere to these policies and procedures in order to provide appropriate services to all residents.
